“Police State of the Country ~ Training People to Think in Terms of Their Limitations”. 18 x 24” / Watercolor on Acid-Free Strathmore Watercolor paper.

In a place where the sky regularly turns from blue to a reddish grey, three times a day, and the people sit at the kitchen table shaking their heads slowly, in anticipation of the worst possible outcome to any number of pointless conversations…and associations…there is NO thought whatsoever that things will go their way; that’s what they were taught & that is how they live their lives, almost religiously.       It is not for them to consider that their lives will ‘improve’ or, in any way, blossom, because they were taught to “~know your limits”, though at no time were they ever encouraged to imagine their potential for successes!       They are, these particular types of ‘communities’, hell-bent on putting their faces to the grindstone & then blaming the devil (or others considered to be devilish) for their bloodied faces.      They set traps for themselves, socially, emotionally, and do not express their dissatisfaction for anything in their lives for they were taught to hold ‘it’ in & swallow it, or ‘walk-it-off’, but, for heavens sake, don’t talk about it!       In this way, people are taught to ‘police’ themselves, and to only think of themselves in terms of their limitations, and then they begin to think that others everywhere should do likewise.         This is when things get very strained.

This original work is for discerning collectors of social commentary & want a substantial statement piece.
