“Crimson Unicorn before a Stained Glass” (watercolor)

I know everyone has an opinion about everyone they see, and judgments about everyone’s appearance.      When people look in your direction; are they looking at you, or are they seeing you?!     Are they looking at you through the rigid filter of their expectations; what they’ve heard about you?   How are you dressed, and what does that style of dress imply to them? If someone were to ask them, though, what you looked like; would they even be able to describe you?       And all these judgments’ will create an image in their mind’s heart; which tells them you are; a good person; a good looking person; a strange-looking person, a still life, or something more pre-fab.   If you care too much what gazes fall upon your turned back~ it will weigh more heavily upon your shoulders every day.   One can’t afford to care.    Be who you are, be what you are.  Just don’t expect everyone to be happy or accepting about it.   There will be those who will wear the socially acceptable ‘costume’, and be fine with it, and take it as ‘the price of doing business’.    Lastly, there are those who don’t care about any of this, or about those who are judging them for the ‘costume’ they think they’re wearing. You can’t please everyone; it’d drive you crazy trying.    And why drive when it’s close enough to walk.
